Cobit5 Foundation
Description
 
This three days course provides a foundation level understanding of COBIT. This course will guide you through the components of the COBIT Framework, at a general conceptual level, and then with an in-depth analysis of two specific processes. Questions and answers are based on the instructor's experience as well as feedback from students will help you learn how to apply COBIT in practice. A practical case study is also used to embed the principles and draw on the participants' knowledge and experience. Additional subjects are COBIT Online, COBIT and other best practice methodologies and an overview of Val IT.
 
Objectives
 
  • Applies the need for a control framework to meet an organisation's need for IT governanc & learn how COBIT meets this requirement 
  • Understands the functions and benefits that COBIT provides
  • Comprehends the relationship between COBIT and other standards and practices including ITIL, ISO20000, Prince2 and ISO 17799
  • Applies the COBIT Framework and components of COBIT (Control Objectives, Control Practices, Management Guidelines, Audit Guidelines)
  • Integrates the products and services of ITGL that support use of COBIT
  • Applies COBIT in real-world practical situations
  • Defines controls across the full range of IT Management processes including Strategic Planning, Building and running of IT Services
  • Focuses on 5 areas of IT Governance regarding IT Services and IT Management processes: Strategic Alignment, Value Delivery, Resource Management, Risk Management, Performance Measurement

Assessment

Exam comprises of 40 multiple-choice questions. It has to be completed in 60 minutes. The pass mark is 70%.
